General Product Questions
These are the first questions people typically ask to understand the product.
What exactly is CRAY and how does it work?
CRAY is a proactive dating and relationship safety platform designed to help people identify behavioral risks before they get hurt—emotionally, financially, or physically.
How is CRAY different from other dating safety apps?
CRAY evaluates real, observed behavior using a weighted scoring system to identify risk patterns early. Most apps tell you who someone was; CRAY focuses on how they’re acting right now and what that typically leads to.
Who is the app designed for?
CRAY is designed for anyone navigating relationships, but it’s especially valuable for higher-risk groups like young adults, people newly single after long-term relationships, and those with past trauma. Each group faces different vulnerabilities—limited experience, outdated assumptions about dating, or difficulty recognizing red flags—and CRAY helps close those gaps with structured, objective insights.
Is the app only for dating situations or can it be used for other online meetups?
The app can be used to evaluate any interpersonal relationship, whether a friend, a dating partner, or someone you’ve just met. The goal of the app is to help teach users how to evaluate these relationships more safely with the right tools.
Is CRAY free or paid?
Most of CRAY is free, but there are paid components within the app. CrayScore and SchemerScore are currently free, but the CatfishCheck, OffenderCheck, and VibeCheck are in-app purchases that cost money due to data costs.
What platforms is the app available on (iOS, Android)?
CRAY is currently available in the iOS App Store and Google Play, with a web version launching in the very near future.
How do users download and start using the app?
They visit the app store that they have access to and download the app. Once downloaded, they will be required to register as a user with their mobile phone number. Once completed they will have access to the app and the assessments.
